Seana Tomlinson Coaching and Counselling

People come to see me for counselling for a variety of reasons. You may be feeling overwhelmed or burnt out from all the juggling that life demands. You may feel you have lost your sense of self and direction in life. You may be feeling anxious, worried or depressed or just not feeling like yourself at the moment. You may be feeling low in confidence or self-esteem. You may have been through a loss or difficult experience and finding it hard to get back on track with life.

Whatever is bringing you to counselling, I know it can be a daunting step to reach out to find some support for yourself, but I will provide a warm, safe and judgement-free, space for you to explore and make sense of what is going on for you and I will support you as you find your way forward to happier times.

I am a fully qualified counsellor and a member of the BACP.

"Many of my clients are women in their 30s, 40s and 50s who want to discover more joyful, balanced and fulfilling lives"

What I can help with

Many of my clients are women in their 30s, 40s and 50s who want to discover more joyful, balanced and fulfilling lives. The challenges and transitions that we face as women during these decades can leave us feeling overwhelmed, burnt out from juggling, lacking direction, low in self-esteem, anxious or depressed or simply that we have lost our mojo.

I have experience working with a wide range of issues and challenges including:

  • Grief/Loss/Bereavement
  • Overwhelm and burnout
  • Low mood
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Finding meaning or purpose in life
  • Building confidence
  • Navigating new life stages
  • Rediscovering a sense of self after becoming a parent

I am also qualified to work with children and teenagers and have experience as a school counsellor.

How I work

I will provide a warm, safe and judgement-free space where we can work collaboratively together. I will gently challenge when appropriate to facilitate different or new perspectives. We will be curious together as we work towards a greater understanding of what is going on for you.

I will focus on what is happening for you in the present, but we may also talk about past experiences and relationships if they are impacting you in the here and now.

As a person-centred counsellor, I believe that you are the expert in yourself and your own life. I don’t offer solutions or advice but will work collaboratively with you as you find your own way forward to happier times.

I am also a qualified and accredited coach so if you are interested in finding out more about the more dynamic and goal-oriented energy of coaching please visit my coaching page.

Ways of Working

For counselling, I offer a weekly slot and you attend counselling at the same time every week for as long as you want to come. You can choose to end counselling at any time.

Face to Face in person: I currently offer face to face counselling at Surrey Holistic in Godalming

I will also be starting a new practice on Fridays at The Practice in Guildford town centre in September 2024

Online: I offer online counselling via Zoom. This means I can work with people located anywhere and it also offers great flexibility even to clients who live nearby.

Note that for young people of secondary school age, face to face counselling is typically preferable.

I offer a free 30-minute initial consultation online or by telephone. This is an opportunity for us to meet, discuss your needs and for you to get a sense of who I am and whether we will work well together.

I charge £70 for each 50-minute counselling session (both face to face and online) and you would be making a commitment to meeting weekly at the same time each week. I have a limited number of concession slots available for students or low income clients. Please enquire if you would like to find out more.

I ask for payment by bank transfer in advance of each session. For cancellations less than 48 hours before the session, fees will be due.

As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I am bound by a strict code of ethics, am committed to regular continuing professional development and attend clinical supervision on a regular basis.
